About the Chamber Singers
Founded in 1993, the Chamber Singers is a subset ensemble of the Harvard-Radcliffe Collegium Musicum, Harvard's select mixed choir. The student-conducted group explores choral works in an intimate musical atmosphere and is devoted to creating an ensemble of the highest caliber. Chamber Singers focuses primarily on a cappella repertoire, performing sacred and secular classics from all musical eras, but particularly the early Renaissance. Each year, the Chamber Singers undertakes a domestic tour. In June 2009, they traveled to the San Francisco Bay Area and sang at venues including St. Dominic's Catholic Church in San Francisco, St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Oakland, and Clos Pegase Winery in Napa Valley. The group has also appeared in Chicago, Montreal, France, Spain, Portugal, and Australia. This year's student conductor is senior Rachel Carpentier, assisted by senior Cole Dutcher and junior Ryaan Ahmed. If you have any questions or comments, or would like to contract the Chamber Singers for an event, please email manager Ellen Goldschmidt at chambersingers [at] hrcm.net.
